Learning to Read What Was
Not Being Said
Long before I understood it as a strength, I paid attention to people. I noticed what was said, what wasn’t, and the small shifts that told me there was often more happening beneath the surface.
Over time, that way of noticing became part of how I move through the world, listening closely, seeing connections, and recognizing possibilities that might otherwise be missed.
A Life With More Than One Beginning
My life has not followed a straight line.
There have been seasons of building, seasons of starting over, and seasons when I had no idea that what I was living through would eventually become part of something I would create.
I have been a businesswoman, a mother, a community builder, a writer, a speaker, and a woman figuring out what came next more than once.
Some chapters were chosen. Others were not.
But I have learned that beginning again does not erase everything that came before it. We carry forward what we know, what we have learned, the people we have loved, the mistakes we have made, and the parts of ourselves we understand differently now.
I don't believe we become someone entirely new. I think we keep becoming more fully ourselves.
That understanding eventually found its way into my writing and into the work I created through Becoming. But before it became work, it was personal.

I still believe there is something remarkable about what can happen when we pay attention to one another.
