Strategic Connection & Collaboration
Sometimes the opportunity is already there. The right people simply haven’t found one another yet.
I see connections between people, ideas, organizations, and opportunities and bring them together when there is a meaningful reason to do so.
What I Mean by Strategic Connection
Strategic connection is recognizing where there is genuine alignment and knowing when an introduction is worth making. The best collaborations are not created by forcing a fit. They begin when there is something worth building together.
It makes sense when two people are working toward something similar and haven't met yet. When an idea needs the right person to carry it further. When a conversation keeps circling back because something in it wants to become real."
When Collaboration Makes Sense
Where Connection
Has Led
Some connections begin with a conversation.
These are a few that became something more.
An Introduction That Became Award-Winning Work
I introduced Matt Perkins of Perkins Media Group to Smith Metal Products because I could see how well their work might fit together. That introduction became a creative partnership between Smith Metal Products and Matt and Logan Perkins, and the work went on to win a Silver Telly Award. Perkins Media Group and I are now strategic partners.
What began as an introduction became something none of us could have predicted.
A Connection That Changed My Direction
I met Marian Cook before Archstone Workspace existed. We stayed connected, and eventually that relationship led me to the business incubator she created at Archstone.
That experience changed far more than where I worked. In that environment, I completed my book, created The Becoming Program, and connected with Tracy Fallon, who became an important part of Becoming.
I could never have seen any of that coming when Marian and I first met.
That is what a meaningful connection can do: it can change the direction of a life.
Sometimes the beginning is simply
a conversation.
We don’t have to know where the conversation will lead before we begin it.
Let’s begin with a conversation.
